THANKSGIVING IN LIMA!

All the north americans gathered together for a full day of activities.  Steve and I were covering the CCM for the Cardon's and were asked if the La Molina Ward could use the missionary soccer field for some real football!  So, it was just like home. A "Turkey Bowl" and a great Thanksgiving dinner!

The cheering section!
Steve was talking to Tom Cavannaugh, so did not get in the team picture.  Guess which one played college football?

It was great to see so many dads play with their sons!  Steve gets ready for a pass below.

Later we went to the Sorenson's for our meal.  He works at the US Embassy and their family has been a big part of strengthening the church here in Lima.  Can you tell the kids are hungry?

There was a fabulous variety of food prepared and with some special Peruvian dishes, too!

This is one of the homes owned by the embassy and it's more like a big park, completely surrounded by huge walls.

We sat next to Kris and Bob Bloomer.  They are heading to Cusco next month and we will miss them.

Everyone seemed to have a great time!

This is Brooke Sorenson with some of her children.

All ages had a great time spending the afternoon together.

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving 2013 turned out to be a quiet gathering of senior missionaries at the Lima Temple Albergue!  I think we were all missing our kids and grandkids!!!  But, there is so much we are grateful for and appreciate the opportunity to gather as fellow saints and share this time together!
